a little girl in little red plaid pajamas
wandered into her snowy yard one morning
and discovered a tall magic tree
who told warm stories
and twisted his trunk
and stretched his branches
and was very kind.
the next morning
she went outside to the tree
to hear more warm stories
but the tree was no longer magic
his trunk and his branches were still
sometimes magic is only around for a little while
if you don’t wander into your snowy yard every once in a while,
you might miss it.
